Cecilia grew up in Christian schools in Hong Kong, developing a strong faith early on. While studying in Australia, she discovered the logic of the Bible through game theory, deepening her understanding of missio dei. A year after her baptism, she felt called at a youth camp to build a mission-centered family, which led her to Albert, who was raised in a multicultural environment. He embraced the faith, was baptized, and began evangelizing to his neighbors. Together, they served in their home church before joining AIM (Canada) as a mission family of six.
Cecilia earned a Master of Divinity from Hong Kong Bible Seminary and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Inspired by the fusion of Eastern and Western theology, she developed culturally relevant urban mission strategies. She worked with refugees and asylum seekers, expanding God’s kingdom through collaboration with local churches to enhance global mission efforts.
In 2021, during a prayer meeting, Cecilia realized her deep love for Africans stemmed from her 2014 mission in East Africa. This revelation led her to join AIM (Hong Kong) as a local cross-cultural missionary in early 2023. By October 2024, she and Albert were accepted as full-time missionaries with AIM Borderless Canada, eager to serve UPGs in Ontario from a cultural perspective. They pray for these communities to experience the resurrection power of Jesus and for their supporters to be blessed through their ministries to the unreached.
Beginning in mid-2025, Cecilia and Albert will work to build faith communities among UPGs in Ontario, using inculturated methods to help build the UPGs’ church history.
