Cecilia grew up in Christian schools in Hong Kong, developing a strong faith early on. While studying in Australia, she discovered the logic of the Bible through game theory, deepening her understanding of missio dei. A year after her baptism in the early 2000s, she felt called at a youth camp to build a mission-centered family, which led her to Albert, who was raised in a multicultural environment. He embraced the faith, was baptized, and began evangelizing to neighbors. Together, they served in their home church before joining AIM (Canada) as a mission family of six.
Cecilia earned a Master of Divinity from Hong Kong Bible Seminary and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Inspired by the fusion of Eastern and Western theology, she developed culturally relevant urban mission strategies and worked extensively among refugees and asylum seekers, expanding God’s kingdom through her presence with local churches.
Cecilia’s journey began during a prayer meeting when she recognized her profound love for Africans, rooted in her mission trip to East Africa in 2014. This realization inspired her to join AIM (Hong Kong) as a local cross-cultural missionary. By October 2024, she and Albert were accepted as full-time missionaries with AIM (Canada), committed to serving Unreached People Groups (UPGs) in Ontario as a missionary family.
As missionaries of AIM, they are committed to experiencing the resurrection power of Jesus with UPGs. As the light and salt of this world, they serve as advocates for those fleeing persecution, escaping armed conflict, and healing from trauma through their resettlement ministry for global refugees. As vessels of His grace, they pray for their supporters to be abundantly blessed through their ministries. As earthly parents of four, they feel called to train their children to serve alongside them in carrying out the Great Commission.
