John & Krys began serving with AIM Canada as short term missionaries in January 2008, returning in 2010 as full term missionaries.
Previous roles that the Cassels have held, all in Uganda, are:
- In Arua serving as the Discipleship Coordinator with Madi West Nile Diocese of the Church of Uganda, working with the Lugbara, Madi and Aringa people groups.
- In Soroti serving as the Unit Leader for Northern Uganda – developing AIM teams and work among the Karimojong, the IK, and support of AIMAIR in Arua.
- In Kampala serving as the Unit Leader for Uganda (North & South). Developing and encouraging work by 50+ AIM missionaries across Uganda.
In their last assignment with AIM Canada, the Cassels were splitting their time between Soroti, Uganda and Ontario, Canada as Missions Advocates: Encouraging Teso and Kumam churches and individuals to be fully involved in the Great Commission of making disciples in all nations. Interacting across denominations to encourage church leaders to develop strategies and send to send their own people to unreached people groups.
John & Krys have now retired from active service with AIM Canada, as of October 2023.
John and Krys have four children, and four great grandchildren.
