Joseph served as a short-term missionary, with a Korean Mission Organization, in Kampala, Uganda, from 2006-2007 and revisited as a leader of a mission trip for young adults in 2014.
During that time, Joseph received a calling from God, marking the beginning of his journey to participate in God’s mission. This calling led him to graduate with an M.Div. degree from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Korea. His desire to partake in the Great Commission has opened the door to experiencing diverse cross-cultural missions worldwide through his church ministries over the past years.
In 2023, now residing in Canada, Joseph met a mission mobilizer from AIM, which ignited his vision for Africa Inland Mission. Joseph was accepted with AIM Canada for Full-Term Missionary service and his first on-field assignment will involve discipleship and theological education at Pwani International Christian College in Mombasa, Kenya. Joseph is excited to create memorable experiences with Africans, share His love and passion, and witness how God continues to write His story.
Years ago, before Joseph’s grandmother passed away, she expressed her wish for him to be a believer, and he became a Christian, according to her hopes and prayers. Similarly, he is now following the calling that Jesus left for his disciples, according to His will. Ultimately, Joseph aims to reach out to the unreached people and to roll out the red carpet for His coming. Mark 1:3, “Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”
