I will be volunteering with AIM’s Africa Based Orientation, helping to assist their youth program. Most of my time, however, will be spent serving with Overcomers By Grace (OBG), a faith-based organization run out of Nairobi. OBG provides affordable and accessible therapy services for families with children who have special needs. With OBG, I’ll be supporting their work in many practical ways. This includes caring for the children at the center—engaging them in learning activities, play, and daily routines. I’ll also be helping with behind-the-scenes tasks such as record keeping, cooking, and cleaning alongside the staff.
This will be my second mission trip, as I have only gone on one up to Northern BC where I served in an Indigenous reserve on a team from my school, Trinity Western University.
