AIM for Africa 2022 – PROJECTS

Hope for Hospitals – Ethiopia

This project will earmark the funds raised for hospital equipment, which have been either stolen or destroyed in the Amhara region of northern Ethiopia. This region previously had the best hospitals in Ethiopia. Due to major conflict in the region over the past two years, thousands have died, more than 2 million Ethiopians have been displaced, and many more are left suffering and in desperate need of care.

Field to Table – Lesotho

This project is an initiative that aims to purchase a suitable round baling machine to harvest livestock fodder in the southern African country of Lesotho. AIM partners with Growing Nations to promote ‘Farming God’s Way’ which core value is: Transforming lives through Agriculture.

The local people are taught to use sustainable agriculture practices in the fields to increase harvest yields and improve financial security which produces income to provide the basic need of food on the table. These agricultural methods are taught using biblical principles with the goal of reaping spiritually transformed lives in people.

The purchase of a small B70 baling machine for the demonstration farm for the Growing Nations program will aid in increased self-sufficiency while enabling the cultivation of even more lives transformed in Lesotho and beyond.

August Basson explains the reliance of Lesotho farmers on their livestock, and addresses the need for a baler to assist them in providing winter fodder for their animals.

This is the small B70 baler that Growing Nations is hoping to purchase with the proceeds from this project

Resources for Leaders – Uganda

This project will meet a desire to provide 100 church leaders with their own study Bible and guide. This will enable these new church leaders, who are graduating from theological institutes, to continue to grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ as they lead congregations in underserved areas. Most of these leaders have used a borrowed Bible during their training, which will need to be returned. The Bibles will be purchased in Uganda, and distributed through learning institutions that are committed to this partnership.

Resources for Leaders Project Administrators – John & Krys Cassels

John and Krys Cassels came to Uganda with AIM almost 15 years ago after careers in IT and health care.  They spent 6 years in West Nile in Uganda working as Mission Coordinators for 600 mainly rural churches.  Then, for the following four years their responsibilities widened as they worked as Unit Leaders, supporting AIM missionaries throughout Uganda.

For the last 4 years they have taken on a role as Missions advocates in both Canada and Uganda –  they work to alert Ugandan church leaders and churches to their role in taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.

They are excited to see more and more Uganda Christians get involved in the Great Commission by going, praying, sending or advocating – and try and support their Ugandan friends in any way they can to push ahead in doing what God has called them to do.
